South Korea's HHI releases photo of BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150)




Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard based in Ulsan, South Korea has released a photo of the Philippine Navy’s (PN) future BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150), she is the lead flagship of two 107 meter frigates.



A few days back the Philippine Navy reported that the arrival of the country’s most modern brand new ship is scheduled this May 23,it would depart from its homeport in Ulsan, South Korea May 18 and it would directly go to its temporary port in Subic Bay, Zambales.


 “Aalis ng Korea sa May 18 na at darating dito sa Pilipinas on May 23. Dederetso siya sa Subic kung saan gaganapin ang ating technical inspection and acceptance,” Navy chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo said over dzRH last week.

“This is our first brand new fighting ship,” Vice Admiral Bacordo said.
Bacordo said the PN’s brand new warship will directly sail for Subic where the technical inspection and acceptance will be conducted.

Vice Admiral Bacordo highlights the capabilities of this brand new ship which are capable of anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare and anti-electronic warfare.
“This is the first time that we will have this kind of vessel in the Philippine Navy,” Vice Admiral Bacordo said.


It sister ship the future BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151), is also expected to be delivered in the country later this year.
