PH Navy's BRP Jose Rizal completes voyage from SoKor




She’s finally home.

Marine traffic monitoring sites have shown that Philippine’s newest and most modern warship the future BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150) was entering Subic Bay.



It was earlier announced by the Philippine Navy (PN) that its most modern warship will arrive in Subic Anchorage Area, Zambales May 23. She departed Ulsan in South Korea on May 18.

Because of the pandemic brought about by the novel coronavirus 2019 disease or COVID-19, the Filipino crew of the said frigate will have to undergo and complete the mandatory 14-days quarantine.

Before the official entry of the frigate to military service, it needs to undergo first a technical inspection which will be done in Subic.

BRP Jose Rizal is the lead ship of her class, it is one of two frigate ordered from South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).



As per the Philippine Navy, once commissioned, FF-150 will provide the service with anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and electronic warfare capabilities.
The future BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151), its sister ship is expected to be delivered by the end of this year.
