House Speaker Alan
Peter Cayetano spearheaded and was the author of the proposed bill which will
give the Lopez controlled ABS-CBN Corporation a 5-month provisional franchise
to resume its broadcasting operations, has cautioned the supporters of the tv station.
The Speaker was
referring to the “Ang Probinsyano” star Coco Martin and other ABS-CBN Kapamilya
celebrities who took turns lambasting and slamming
the Duterte administration for the shutting down of ABS-CBN Corporation.
“Loyalty to the company that has given you a good
life is important, but you cannot cry injustice and blame public servants when
you lose your paycheck, yet not take notice of the fact, yes the fact, that
there are grave issues against your network,” said Cayetano in a speech where
sponsoring a bill giving ABS-CBN a provisional franchise for its temporary
resumption of broadcasting operations until October 2020.

“These include alleged violations of labor, tax,
and even constitutional law. By all means, let your voices of support for your
network be heard. But if you really want to join the public debate, find it in
your indignation to also support due process and fact finding as this issue is
imbued with public interest – not just yours,” he added.
Martin was the de facto
leader of the contract artist which took turns attacking the Duterte
administration is social media for the cease and desist order which led to its
closure.
In his viral Facebook live video. Martin
said:“Hindi labanan ’to ng diplomasya. Binarubal na tayo. Tinarantado na tayo.
Kinuha na iyong bahay natin. Anong ie-expect natin? Pagdadasal natin sila?
Pinagdasal na natin sila. Tiniis na natin sila. Dapat kumilos na tayo.
Magsalita tayo,” he said.
“Kasi kung lahat tayo mananahimik, aabusuhin tayo
niyan . . . Kasi ito iyong pagkakataon natin. Wala na tayong trabaho. Ano ang
iingatan natin?” he added.
