Malacanang
in a very rare occasion chose to answer back to the tirades of opposition
senator Risa Hontiveros, the later claims President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has
failed to present “concrete plan” on hoe to solve the novel coronavirus 2019
disease or COVID-19 pandemic during his last public address.
“We
are aghast at the insensitivity and chutzpah of Senator Risa Hontiveros, the
only senator who voted against Republic Act No. 11469, or the Bayanihan to Heal
As One, at chiding President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on his alleged ‘lack of’ sense
of urgency and absence of a ‘concrete plan’,” Presidential Spokesperson
Salvador Panelo in a statement said.
Panelo
advised the opposition senator rather than making big statements in the media
hype, she should “study” Duterte’s 18-page report that detailed the actions
taken against the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak by this administration “for her
enlightenment.”

Panelo
who is also the Presidential Legal Counsel of President Duterte also urges the
senator “to engage in an intelligent and productive discourse and help in the
battle against Covid-19” and
discouraged her from spreading misinformation that put the President in a bad
light.
“There
must be an end to this nitpicking madness,” Atty. Panelo said to those critics
of the President.
