Ay mali!!! A mistake that was
rewarded with goods and a trending post.
The national government has rolled out its social amelioration
program wherein, aside from that the Department of Labor (DOLE) had promised
that I will also provide help by giving P5,000 help for those workers that is
directly affected by the novel coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19 (provided pertinent
requisites from DOLE are met).
A funny thing happened when Facebook user CJ Banasihan
mistook international fruit company “Dole PH” for “DOLE,” the Department of
Labor and Employment.

Banasihan messaged DOLE PH page on March 24, 2020 asking for
the P5,000 COVID-19 financial assistance for workers affected by the enhanced
community quarantine in Luzon.
“Ano na?! Nasaan na ‘yung 5K namin?!” he said in a private
message to Dole PH.

He only knew that he made a mistake when the food company
informed him of the missent message.
“Hi CJ, Unfortunately, we’re not the Department of Labor and
Employment—we are Dole Philippines, best known for our sweet pineapples and
yummy fruit-based packaged products,” the company said.
After two weeks from his message, Banasihan
received from the food company more than P5,000 worth of products from Dole PH.

"At first, akala ko nag bibiro lang sila na
ipapadala agad nila ‘yung products nila, kasi April 1 sila nagchat sakin na for
schedule na daw ‘yung delivery," told Banasihan.
"All I know is naging viral yung post pero
never pumasok sa isip ko na papadalhan nila ko ng products nila," he
added.
Up until the posting of this article, he has not
received the financial assistance he is expecting from the Department of Labor.
