Kamsamnida South Korea!!!
The Republic of South Korea time and time again
has made itself a true friend of the Philippines, in peace time as well as
during in time of disasters brought about by natural calamities.
In a report posted in Philippine Star Facebook
page, the government of South Korea donated 950 metric tons of rice to the
Philippines through the Department of Agriculture (DA), the beneficiaries will
be the thousands of Filipino families severely affected by natural disasters
and calamities of this year.

The DA announced that the recipients include the earthquake
victims in Mindanao, particularly in North Cotabato and Davao del Sur, and
other areas in regions 11 and 12 as well as flood victims in Cagayan Valley
last year.
The rice donated by the South Korean government
are packed in 40 kilogram bags and it is expected to benefit around 15,000 families
affected y the earthquake in Mindanao and some 8,750 families affected by the
flash flood in Cagayan Valley last year.
Deep bond between the two
countries
The Philippines is the first Asian country to
heed the call of the United Nations when the Korean Peninsula was still at war with
each other.
The Philippine mobilized its troops to from the
Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea(PEFTOK), which fought side by side with
the allied forces and the democratic loving South Korean troops. Filipino
soldiers fought bravely in some battles which will be forever etched in Korean history,
a lot of lives were lost because we fought alongside our ally.
