hungry or the ego?”
Senate President Vicete "Tito" Sotto would not just let the issue of those letting their good deeds on the different
social media platforms so the public will know.
He said he has
no qualms if others are showing their good deeds during the novel coronavirus
2019 disease or COVID-19 pandemic, but he cannot just readily accept some
people’s humblebrag by announcing their charity works online.

“If you want to
feed the hungry, then feed the hungry. but the moment you post it on social
media, you are just feeding your ego!” the senator wrote on Instagram.

The Senate President said this was his amended
version from a popular quote from the late American basketball coach John
Wooden.
Wooden once said a person can’t end world
hunger in a day but can donate time or money to feed the hungry.
Senators have donated more than just
salaries in COVID-19 fight
A few weeks ago,
Sotto was replying to the message of Manila Mayor ISko Morena when the latter
was asking the lawmakers to donate to the COVID-19, since the government cannot
cope with the numbers that need aid.
The Senate
President said that they have been helping the Filipino people and it is more
than their monthly pay.
“The Senators
have been donating more than just their salaries since day one but never
published it!” Sotto said in Twitter
