The Philippines just made it a
priority to make sure we have the available human resources in the battle
against the novel coronavirus 2019 disease or Covid-19.
The Philippine Overseas Employment
Administration (POEA) has just suspended the deployment of health workers
abroad “to prioritize” the country which is currently battling the pandemic
brought about by Covid-19.
POEA’s resolution states that the
deployment of health workers is suspended “until the national state of
emergency is lifted and until COVID-19-related travel restrictions are lifted
at the destination country.”

following are the health workers covered by the suspension of deployment as
provided by the POEA Resolution:

·
Microbiologist
·
Molecular biologist
·
Medical technologist
·
Clinical analyst

Laboratory technician
·
X-ray/radiologic technician
·

As per the POEA, such a move aims
to: “prioritize human
resource allocation for the national health care system at the time of the
national state of emergence.”
“Negotiations of
bilateral labor agreements for government-to-government deployment of health
care workers are temporarily suspended until the duration of the national state
of emergency,” POEA further said.
