Presidential first daughter and current Davao city mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is sacrificing her one year salary as a local chief executive for the sake of the medical frontliners.

The money will be a trust fund for the employees of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

As per the lady mayor, her one year salary is P2,144,266.

The high number of confirmed COVID-19 patients who are health workers prompted the mayor to do this help for them.

She adds that its just money, the work of our medical health frontliners are immeasurable in this time of crisis.

“I contemplated to use this as trust fund for SPMC employees who tested positive,” said Mayor Sara.

“I know this cannot compensate for all the fear, anxiety, and exhaustion. Money cannot make up for everything but at least they would have some money that they can use,” she adds.

Just like her father, President Duterte

Just before the holy week, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte also decided to donate one month of his salary for the COVID-19 war chest.

Prior to this majority of the Duterte cabinet also pledged to donate 75% of their monthly salaries for the months of April to December.
