Pres. Duterte and Pangilinan meeting ‘soon’




The President intends to have a meeting with business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan this according to long time aide and now senator Bong Go.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the inspection of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link Circumferential Road 3-R10 Section in Caloocan City was seen having a short and light moment with Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan.


NLEX Corporation is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways, a company owned by MPIC.

“Mag set meeting soon. (Duterte) invited (Pangilinan),” Go told reporters.
Pangilinan has been the subject along with Ayala  of Duterte’s criticisms following the arbitration victory against the government.
The water concession agreements when found out the President has called on an full blown investigation which led to his decision not to pay any arbitration award in favor of the two water concession giants Maynilad and Manila Water.

Duterte in numerous public speeches has slammed both water concessionaires for benefitting in the deal to the detriment of the Filipino people calling such agreement as “onerous deals.”
Earlier, the Singapore = based Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) directed the Philippine government to pay the Pangilinan-led water firm P3.4 billion and Manila Water P7.4 billion for their losses in the non-implementation of water rate hikes.
