As early as now some quarters are already making rounds as to
who could be the next President of the country after Duterte steps down in
2022.
The President when asked if he is already seen a worthy
successor of his Malacanang office said he is convinced that from the current
breed of politicians there is no fit to become the next leader of the country.
In an event in Malacanang before the newly appointed
government officials, President Duterte said those aspiring to become President
of the country should not be afraid to kill.

“We’re getting old, and the young are there. I still haven’t seen a new crop of politicians here in our country,” Duterte said, speaking partly in Filipino. “Frankly, I don’t see anyone. I don’t see anyone who can really be president.”
“You know, to be honest, if you want to be
president and you don’t know how to kill and you’re afraid to die, just don’t
become a president,” he added.
The President’s administration has been known to have initiated the
brutal war on the illegal narcotics trade, which have resulted to killings.
Detractors and critics of his government has called the killing as extra-judicial
to which government agencies have been denying.
