Opposition
senator and current Party President of the Liberal Party Senator Francis “Kiko”
Pangilinan is asking the Duterte administration “Where is the plan?.”
Pangilinan
is inquiring about the status or progress of the Duterte administration with
regard to government efforts to combat the novel coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19
outbreak nearly a week after the passage of the Bayanihan Law.
The
Bayanihan law was specifically created to combat COVID-19, it gives the
Philippine President extra powers to stop the spread of the new virus which
came from Wuhan, China. It also obligates the President to submit a weekly
progress report to Congress.

“It’s
been five days since the emergency powers, and as required by law, IATF needs
to submit to Congress and effectively to the people a progress report every
week. Where is the money? PPEs, food packs? Plan?” Pangilinan said in a
Facebook post.
Pangilinan
is also interested to know how the Duterte administration spent the funds for
its response against COVID-19. He also sought an update on the Personal
Protective Equipment for health workers as well as the food assistance for poor
families.
“We’re
almost halfway in our enhanced community quarantine, at katulad ng nabanggit
natin sa ating pahayag nang ipasa ng Senado itong batas na ito, gusto nating
makita na ipinapatupad ang batas at inilalaan ang pondo nang ayon dito at gaya
ng inaasahan,” he said.
