Good News!!! More test kits for deadly virus arriving in the country

The cavalry is coming.

Thousands of test kits for the novel coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19 are coming.

These kits will detect infection of COVID-19, there are personal protective equipment (PPE) also for the use of the country’s frontliners. All of these will be a bog boost as the country’s is currently fighting the deadly disease.

In a press briefing in Malacanang, Assistant Health Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the expected test kits—2,000 from the Mammoth Foundation in China, 1,000 from South Korea, and 2,000 from the Chinese Embassy—would be “rationally allocated” to hospitals, which need them most.

“We are expecting more testing kits to arrive,” she said, adding that the expected kits would boost the 1,000 that the government had in stock.

Chinese Billionaire and Alibaba’s founder Jack Ma through the help of senator Manny Pacquiao has also pledged to donate 50,000 test kits to the country.

“This will be rationally allocated. We hope to give this to all who need it, even local government hospitals,” Vergeire said.

According to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles,which is also the spokesperson of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases, agreed, stressing that the distribution mechanism would be “based on science, evidence and needs.”

Asec. Vergeire did not provide a breakdown of the PPE donated by other countries.
