Department
of Health (DOH) has been reminded by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
Secretary Teodoreo Locsin, Jr. not to block the entry of Chinese doctors from
China.
Locsin
said he had asked the Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian to send Chinese doctors
to the Philippines.
“I ASKED AMB. HUANG to send us
Chinese doctors. Interpreters are no problem: Chinese General Hospital and the
Metropolitan Hospital—where Yuchengcos had equity, my daughter was born
there—will readily supply them. BUT DOH is blocking their arrival. DON’T PISS
ME OFF. LET THEM IN,” Secretary Locsin said in a tweet March 28.

The Chinese government has donated
100,000 test kits, 100,000 surgical masks, 10,000 N95 masks, and 10,000 sets of
personal protective equipment to the Philippines.
“On
March 15, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone call
with Philippine Foreign Secretary Teodoro Lopez Locsin,” the Chinese embassy
said. “Noting that the Philippines is China’s friendly neighbor across the sea,
Wang said China is ready to do its utmost to help the Philippines, adding that
China has decided to provide the Philippines with urgently-needed medical
materials such as test kits and protective clothing, and will actively
coordinate the dispatch of medical experts.”
