In
this time of crisis, the country welcomes all the help it can get most
specially if it would redound to the benefit of the common Filipino.
Since
the declaration of the “enhanced community quarantine” of the entire island of
Luzon plus the declaration of State of Calamity of the entire country protocols
have been laid out for everybody to follow.
All
the set of guidelines set out by the national government as recommended by the
Inter Agency Task Force that is spearheaded by the Department of Health (DOH),
all geared for stopping the spreading of the novel coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19.

One
of the main concern of the enhanced community quarantine is the health and well
being of the country’s frontliners.
Noting
this fact the our good neighbor and ASEAN brother Thailand donated 5,000
dressed chicken from Chaoren Pokphand Foods (CPF) through the Embassy
of Thailand in Manila to
the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The
donation will benefit the hardworking Filipino Soldiers who are in the
frontlines implementing the President’s directive as regards the enhanced
community quarantine of Luzon in support to the Inter-Agency Task Force on
Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The
AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations Major General Edgardo
De Leon accepted the donation from the Ambassador of Thailand His Excellency
Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng in a brief ceremony held at the GHQ Canopy Area. He was
assisted by the Thai Defense and Armed Forces Attaché and head executives from
the Thai Company.
The
donated dressed chicken will be distributed to the different units in Luzon
through the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (NCR).
“We
thank the Chaoren Pokphand Foods, the Government of Thailand through Ambassador
Vasing Ruangprateepsang for this kind gesture,” General Santos Jr said.
“Our
men and women on the ground are risking their life in a different, but crucial
battle. This will certainly go a long way in sustaining our efforts as an
institution and a nation in battling COVID-19,” General Santos Jr added.
