“You can’t please everyone.”

The word war between senator Grace Poe and House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano continues as the former reacted to the remark of Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano that her panel’s hearing was just an “attendance” for those who want to suck up to the country’s largest media netwothose who want to suck up to the country’s largest media network.

“Well, opinyon niya yon. Pero sa tingin ko naman marami dito sa atin ang mas naliwanagan kung yun ang opinyon ng iba,” Poe told reporters after the hearing.

(Well, that’s his opinion. But I think, a lot of us here were enlightened about the opinion of others.)

“Di naman lahat mapapaligaya sa mga ginagawa mo, you can’t please everyone,” she added.

(You cannot please everyone with what you’re doing; you can’t please everyone.)

House Speaker Cayetano gave a warning to his former colleagues in the Senate that it would be in direct violation of the Constitution if the senate hears the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN, as franchise bills must first emanate from the House of Representatives before the Senate can tackle the matter.

Senator Poe’s committee conducted the hearing despite the warning and has given the reason that they are only hearing the matters or issues that are the alleged violations of the tv network under its franchise and not the issue of the renewal of the legislative franchise.
