NILANGAW DIN: Thin crowd seen in the 34th People Power anniversary




There were fewer participants this year compared to the previous years.

The 34th year celebration of the EDSA revolution was participated by around 1,000 people according to National Capital Region Police Office Chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas.


The country is commemorating the 34 EDSA People Power revolution at the People Power moment along EDSA, the bloodless and peaceful revolution that ousted the rule of President Ferdinand Marcos.

Sinas said the program lasted only 12 minutes.
“Mas maganda na ‘to, mas mabilis, at solemn. At saka hindi masyadong nakadistorbo sa traffic (This is better, faster, and solemn. Also, it did not cause traffic jams,” Sinas said.
There were no group mobilization unlike the previous years making it more orderly, solemn, and much more faster.


Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and EDSA People Power Commissioner Joey Concepcion led the flag raising and wreath laying ceremonies for the 34th celebration.
Participants from the military, civil society, and various religious groups joined the celebration in the People Power monument.
This year’s theme is “EDSA 2020: Kapayapaan ng Bayan, Simbulo ng Kalayaang lpinaglaban.”
