PNP to receive 3 brand new helicopters this year

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is also modernizing its equipments at the same pace if not faster than it is programmed to be.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s policies instilling discipline among Filipinos, and curbing if not eliminating crime to achieve peace and order gives a lot of trust and responsibilities to the men and women in uniform of the PNP.

In order to achieve all of these, there is a need to modernize its equipment that would help them in fulfilling their mandate to the Filipino people.

This year alone, the police organization is expecting the delivery of three helicopters, this according to PNP OIC Police Lieutenant General Archie Gamboa said.
“Year 2020 will see the PNP literally soaring to greater heights with a fleet of ten rotary-wing aircraft that will provide tactical support to ground operations of PNP Units,” Gamboa said.
“At present we have seven (7) operational helicopters currently in service with the PNP-SAF Air Unit,” he noted

He said that “three more helicopters are due for delivery and acceptance before midyear of this year, including three H-125 helicopters.”
On top of that the OIC PNP said that this year the PNP will be recruiting an additional 17,000 police officers.
“On top of the administrative management initiatives for the year is the continued development of the PNP’s greatest resource which is our manpower. For the year, we will welcome 17,000 more personnel into our ranks thru our annual recruitment program,” the PNP OIC said.
