The Regional Police Chief of Calabarzon PBGen
Vicente Danao, Jr. has urged the Vice mayor of Talisay, Batangas to heed the
call of Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvocs) to strictly follow the 14 km danger zone
evacuation plan.

Talisay Mayor Apologizes
Talisay Vice Mayor Charlie Natanauan became a viral sensation when he uttered the now
Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvocs) head state
seismologist Renato Solidum over the alert warning the agency has been
giving.
His brother Talisay Mayor Gerry Natanauan already apologized in behalf of his second in
command and brother who questioned the mandatory evacuation of residents from
Taal Volcano, which remained under threat of another hazardous eruption as per
the advised of Philvocs.
kaniyang panawagan," said Talisay Mayor Gerry Natanauan.
(I apologize
for that. His statement is against the lockdown that I am implementing. I don't
know why he did that.)
As per
government data, Taal’s eruption has affected around 149,000 people and damaged
at least P3.2 billion worth of crops and livestock.
