'Lugaw Leni': Robredo brings relief goods to Taal evacuees

Vice President Leni Robredo and his group Angat Buhay partners was in Batangas, this is the second time Robredo visited the province the eruption of Taal.

In the video uploaded in the Vice President’s official Twitter account, it could be seen Robredo giving out lugaw (porridge) to some of the evacuees. What was glaring is the fact that one of her staff made a poster saying “Lugaw Leni” an evident public relations stunt because critics of the Vice President calls Robredo “lugaw.”

“Nagbibigay po tayo ng relief goods. Nagbibigay po tayo ng mats at toiletries pati unan. At dito nagbibigay rin po tayo ng ‘Leni Lugaw’ na special tsaka po mga pandesal,” Robredo posted in a tweet then holding a paper with the sign “Leni Lugaw” made by her staff.

Last time Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Deputy Executive Director Mocha Uson, wrote in her blog that the vice president is limiting her relief goods to a bottle of water and 5 pieces of pandesal each food pack.

The post made the Vice President to react attacking Uson for her alleged spreading of fake news. In her tweet he denied the allegations of Uson.

"While our people are suffering from an unfortunate tragedy, this bearer of fake news continues to receive salary out of taxpayers' money. Let's all help put a stop to the proliferation of lies," Robredo posted on her personal Facebook account.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) through its Angat Buhay partners provided relief assistance to the evacuees, including food packs, pails, pillows, hygiene kits, and water jugs, as well as hot meals for lunch and merienda.
They also conducted services including medical consultations, laughter yoga, and storytelling for children were also conducted.
