Heroes in Taal: How her mother decided to help amid the lack of facemasks for those affected by Taal volcano ashfall.




Stories of resiliency, adversity, and heroism are just a few of the description that one can be given to the Filipino spirits in times when there is a natural calamities.

Acts of Bayanihan which have been always in our blood as a Filipino will always shine through in order to help our fellow countrymen when the need arises.



Stories of heroism or a simple act of kindness have been sprouting since the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has placed Taal Volcano at Alert Level 4 which means hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days.

Such is the story of another Batanguena who hails from Lipa, Batangas.
Nanay Rosalina is a witness to the hardship her kababayans is experiencing, being a simple family mom, she was verymuch eager in trying to help others.

Mary Anne Mantuano, daughter of Nanay Rosalina said her mom was having a hard time of thinking how to help others in need, until she decided the best  can – being a seamstress she decided to swe face masks that she can give to those people that have been badly affected by Mt. Taal’s continuing arrest.

“‘Yung mother mo na di alam kung paano tutulong.... Ayan po dahil mananahi ang trabaho niya, naisip niyang manahi ng facemask para sa mga taong nangangailangan,”

“‘Til now gumagawa pa din. Nakpagdonate na din po kami,” she said.
