In this story, the
old saying is true -that no parent would want anything bad to happen to his
child/children.
President Rodrigo
Roa Duterte has been urging and telling political allies not to persuade his
daughter Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio to seek for the highest
position of the land, saying the position would invite all kinds of risks and
require her to make huge sacrifices.
“If any of you has the ambition... mayor, do not
commit that mistake,” Duterte said during the distribution of assistance to
farmers in Cotabato.

“Kaya si Inday ayaw ko. Huwag ninyong demonyohin
‘yang anak ko kasi maawa ako sa kanya. Anak ko ‘yan eh. Mag-presidente… Baka
ma-insulto kayo (I don’t want Inday to do it. Do not tempt my daughter because
I would pity her. She is my daughter. To run for President... you might end up
being insulted),” he added.
The President said
the presidency is very attractive to the corrupt minded individuals but super
demanding to those who just want to work.
“If you just want to
work, you have to sacrifice... You know, the danger of flying a helicopter at
night... If my helicopter encounters an accident and catches fire, before I get
fried, son of a b****, please pour water on us,” the President said.
“Those are the
sacrifices that we have to make. And you know, however you do it, people will
still have something to say. Well, it’s democracy. We can’t do anything about
that,” he added.
Inday Sara is the head of Hugpong ng Pagbabago,
a political party that has been called by political observers as her possible
stepping stone toward the presidency. The regional party made its influence
felt last mid term election wherein 9 of 13 senatorial candidates endorsed by
the party won during last year’s midterm polls.
In an earlier interview with Inday Sara, she has
yet to decide whether to run for president in 2022, saying she would “pray for
wisdom” on the matter.
