The Filipino spirit
of Bayanihan is very much alive in our fellow kababayans in Benguet.
Seeing and hearing
from news reports of the situation of the evacuees in the different evacuation
areas in Batangas brought about by the Taal volcano unrest which started last
weekend, they have initiated to share what the province have for those who are
really in need.
Benguet farmers
donated some 3,000 kilos of various vegetables to those affected by the
eruption of Taal Volcano in the province of Batangas.

The vegetables were
brought to Lipa, Batangas, and they say this will not be the last because they
are planning the second delivery of vegetables to be delivered to Ibaan town
still in Batangas.
"Mas nangangailangan sa baba kasi
pinapakita sa TV ay talagang kawawa naman yung galing Batangas," vegetable
trader Danny Tanacio said.
"Tayo po yung naglilikom ng
donations ng different farmers dito po sa La Trinidad Trading post. Tayo po
nag-arrange ng sasakyan, paano po madadala doon at sino po tatanggap sa
Batangas," La Trinidad Municipal Police chief Major Roldan Cabatan said.
This is not the
first time the Benguet farmers did a donation, last year they also donated their harvests to typhoon and
earthquake victims.
