‘She would be wonderful’ Ms. Universe but.... : Catriona on Liza

The search for the Philippines' 5th Ms. Universe is on.

In the recent Ms. Universe pageant in Atlanta, United States of America, we have seen our Ms. Universe 2018 Catriona Gray passed the crown to her worthy successor Ms. South Africa Zozibini Tunzi.

Our very own Bb. Pilipinas 2019 Gazini Ganados was only able to go as far as the Top 20, and was able to win the national costume special award of the pageant.'

And now that Catriona Gray is already in the country, the next question in everybody’s mind is who can be the next best bet of the country to be our 5th Ms. Universe.

One comes to mind in the showbiz circle, another Ms. Universe< Queen Pia Wurtzbach already as early as 2015 made her bet in an international title non other than the very beautiful Liza Soberano.

Catriona was asked during her contract signing in ABS-CBN, to weigh on Liza Soberano as the next Bb. Pilipinas representative for an international pageant.

Though, she was qualified, Catriona still thinks, Liza lacks something very important to don that Ms.Philippines sash.
 
“Everyone’s always wanted Liza to join, ‘di ba? She’s very, very beautiful. I feel like she would be wonderful,” she began.

“But I really feel that it needs to be the girl who wants to do it. Even if you have so many people saying, ‘Yes, this is for you! This is your path!’ unless you feel it… It needs to be your own passion, it needs to be your own will,” Gray added.

Soberano portrayed Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode., which even made others agree that she is a worthy candidate for the country.

But despite encouragements from the different parties, from her own father, and real-life partner Enrique Gil, Liza has been clear in her stance on pageantry.

“I really want to focus on my acting career, because it’s my dream. When it comes to Miss Universe, I don’t think I will able to handle all the pressure,” she said in a 2017 interview, adding that she is not closing her doors.
