NPA has become 'irrelevant' - NolCom chief




The time for taking up arms against the government by the Commuist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) has taken its toll for now being “irrelevant.”

Armed Forces of the Philippines North Luzon Command (NolCom) Chief Lt. Gen. Ramiro Manuel Rey issued the statement describing the NPA’s as “irrelevant” as the government spearheaded by the Commander in Chief of all the Armed Forces President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has opened the gates for a long lasting peace with the Reds.


This after the elements the Army’s 91st Infantry Battalion (IB) and police’s mobile force companies in Aurora and Nueva Ecija province with the help of civilians were able to buried seized firearms and ammunition believed to belong to an NPA unit operating in Bargy. Punglo in Maria in Aurora.

“[The recovered firearms] prove that the CPP-NPA is becoming irrelevant and that people no longer believe their lies [that the group] used for a long lost cause,” Rey said in a statement from Camp Servillano Aquino in Tarlac City.
