Fr. Robert Reyes more known as the running priest, came running to
the defense of the Vice President Leni Robredo.
The activist priest made known to the public that he is supporting
Robredo when she was axed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as the drug czar and
co-chair of the Inter-agency Anti-Drug Committee (ICAD).
He believed President Duterte feared the scenario where Robredo
would find out anomalous transaction in the ongoing operations of government
against the proliferation of illegal narcotics.

Fr. Reyes in an online interview said the Vice President “spends
her time diligently looking for the truth about the reality of the drug problem
and trafficking in the country”.
And he accuses the President and his allies of “doing the opposite—covering up the truth.”

He reasons that if Duterte was really sincere in appointing
Robredo, “instead of panic, he would have appreciated VP Leni’s willingness to
do the work.”
Just recently the President gave another reason why he fired Robredo.
“The more she she stays with ICAD, the higher the risk of her committing blunder, the more people will be wondering: What really is the truth?” Duterte said.
Fr. Reyes said that the latest rant of Duterte further more cements his “arrogance of power, which tends to bloat egos out of proportion and blur minds and consciences.”
