Malacanang tells Robredo to shut up on water deals: Wala s’yang alam!

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has been on a warpath as against the two giant water concessionaires - Manila Water Co. Inc. (for the east zone) operated by the Ayala group, and Maynilad Water Services Inc. (for the west zone) of the Pangilinan group’s Metro Pacific.

As of press time the two water firms has waived its right to collect from government the amount of P10.8B (Maynilad 3.4 billion and Manila Water 7.4 billion).

Malacanang thru Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Salvador Panelo has advised  Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo to no longer make any comment on the issue concerning the water concession agreements.

“Siguro ang advice natin kay VP leni, huwag mo nang pasukin ang hindi mo alam,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told mediamen.
Panelo said VP Robredo does not know anything about the matter.
“The President has made a stand and the stand appears to be very effective. She should know that,” he added.

In her weekly radio program, the Vice President has advised the government to adopt a “calmer” approach on the alleged disadvantageous agreements entered into by the two water concessionaires against the government.

Kapag hindi natin dinaan sa mas mahinahon na usapin, ang dami nitong collateral damage,” Robredo said.
