The 30th edition of the Southeast Asian Games is about to end.
And the country has won its second overall championship, the first one
was in 2005, which we also hosted.
Days leading to the formal opening, a few hiccups was experienced by
some football athletes from other countries as well as from our very own.

Hotel accommodations, service vehicles, and food are the ones that
caused the initial problems, but once things were formally opened it was smooth
sailing from there on.
Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah was a special guest during Games opening, he was able to witness the
historic and beautiful world class opening the ht country prepared.
The Sultan was able to discuss the hosting challenges with President
Rodrigo Roa Duterte along with Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro
Locsin, Jr., and the Sultan assured Duterte that they have no complaints about
the country’s hosting of the regional games.
“They talked over merienda preparing to go to the Arena; laughs about
difficulty of hosting big events which Brunei with all its wealth
would not again,” Locsin tweeted.
“The Sultan was emphatic his athletes had all praises & no
complaints. Imagine what the Sultan thought when he saw what he saw,” he said.
