The old dictum still stands
true today “ Its better to give than to receive”.
This story is one for the books,
it was not Santa Claus who gave gifts, nor it was the ninong or ninang, but our
own Filipino brothers from the province of Capas, Tarlac.
Aetas from Tarlac was at Tondo,Manila to personally supervise the release of their gifts to their brothers and sisters in Baseco compound.

They gave 10,000 kilos of
camote to some 5,000 residents in Baseco, during the said event members from
the was also there to lend and give support to our brother/sister Aetas.
2 kilos of kamote were given
per person who stood in the line- which occupied the full space of a basketball
court.
According to the organizer Mr.
Roberto Rosales, the Aetas are planning to make this act of giving in Manila as
a yearly tradition.
"Pinagusapan namin kung
ano ang pwede namin i-Christmas sa mga kapwa namin mahihirap. Ang
napagkasunduan namin ay kung ano ang aanihin namin," Nelson Pangilinan
said, tribal chieftain.
The Aetas wants to change the bad
impression and their wish for the “unat” and “kulot” will be of the same
footing in status.
"Gusto lang namin
magpasaya ngayong Pasko na ito. Darating ang panahon na hindi na magkakahiwalay
ang mga kulot at unat," Jober Ocamposaid, one of the Aeta who was their to
witness and participate n the event.
