The Vice President has been a consistent critic
of President Duterte’s war on illegal drugs.
In an interview last October 23, Robredo said the
war on drugs “was not working,” angering Duterte.
Calling the bluff of the Vice President, Duterte offered the position of being the Drug czar, and against the advice of her allies in the Liberal Party the former accepted the offer on November 6.

When Robredo asked for the list of the high value
targets being kept by the government last week, the law enforcement agencies
had their own apprehensions and the President made it public that she does not
trust the Vice President to handle the list with utmost secrecy.
“He should be direct with me. I’m a straight
talker,” she said. “If he does not want me here anymore … and wants to take
back the appointment, he should just say the word.” said the Vice President , after hearing that the Duterte does not trust
her.
Duterte, called the bluff of Robredo again and
fired her over the weekend., she was only in the position for 18 days.
