Quezon declares CPP-NPA 'persona non-grata'




And now it’s a province from Luzon that declares the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) as ‘persona non grata’
The provincial government of Quezon has declared the communist group as “persona non-grata”,amidst the denouncing by Quezon officials of the insurgents’ terroristic activities, violence, and harassments.

The joint resolution was approved during the Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) meeting at the Queen Margarette Hotel in Barangay Domoit in Lucena City.

“The joint resolution adopted by the joint councils is part of our program to strengthen the peace and order of the province and aims to thwart any form of violence perpetrated by the rebel movement,” Quezon Gov. Danilo E. Suarez said.

The Quezon Governor also thanked members of both councils, mayors, officials of the Quezon Provincial Police Office (QPPO), and other government offices like the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and representatives from other government agencies.


The President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration has ushered an unprecedented number of cities and provinces declaring the CPP-NPA as persona non grata in pursuant to President Duterte’s policy ending the communist insurgency during his term.

The CPP NPA is declared as a terrorist group by the following countries, United States of America, New Zealand, European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and in the Philippines.
