Trillanes contradict "Bikoy's" allegations : "Concocted story"

Former opposition senator Antonio Trillanes denies the claim of “Bikoy”  Peter Joemel Advincula, that the opposition has plotted the ouster from power of the current President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,

In the affidavit submitted by Advincula he names the alleged mastermind behind the ouster plot namely: Trillanes, Vice President Leni Robredo, and opposition senators Leila De Lima and Risa Hontiveros among others,

The former senator said Advincula "embellished" real events to "concoct his version of the story."

Trillanes said it was true he had met Advincula around August last year(2018) at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) to vet him but his "Bikoy character did not check out."
"What this guy’s been doing is he’s trying to twist or embellish certain facts and the purpose of that meeting is to vet him. A lot of prospective witnesses have been vetted. If they don’t check out then I don’t present him or anybody to the public," Trillanes
"Definitely not, none of that happened. Again, you’re taking the word of a person who’s been convicted already of estafa."

Trillanes also denied that he funded Advincula to make the "Ang Totoong Narco-list" videos.
"Would any stupid person take such a measly amount? What can you do with that? You're going to target a ruthless dictator, a self-confessed killer in Mr. Duterte and you’re just asking P500,000 which according to him was not even paid," he said.

Chilling message to the opposition

Trillanes said the sedition charges are meant to send a "chilling message" to the opposition, which he said was "getting stronger."

No Credibility

The former senator also berated Advincula’s lawyer losing senatorial candidate Atty. Larry Gadon and said the two together "are not paragons of honesty."

"To cite them actually doesn’t have any value as far as I’m concerned. These people have destroyed whatever credibility they had and that actually bolsters our case," he said.

"On one hand you have credible public personalities, and on the other you have Bikoy and Larry Gadon--that’s the dream team of non-credibility."
