Japanese ambassador to Philippines Koji Haneda paid a courtesy call to Manila Mayor Isko Mreno and has expressed his whole intention to help Manila in promoting Intramuros as a tourism destination for Japanese tourists.

Haneda made the courtesy call after the flag ceremony  at the Manila City Hall.

“I am going to promote the historical trail of Intramuros because it has a Japanese footprint too. It is a magnet for Japanese tourists,” Haneda told Moreno during their meeting.

Haneda also cannot help but tell Moreno that he is “impressed” by the works of the mayor since he assumed office of the mayorship of Manila.

“I am impressed with your achievements for the City in so short a time,” Haneda said. “You hit the ground running.”

Ambassador Haneda also invited Moreno to visit Tokyo and Yokohama soon.

After the meeting, the Japanese ambassador  gave Moreno a white plate with the image of a phoenix as a token to remember his visit.
