'Gusto niyo giyera sa China, ayaw niyo naman ROTC' - Sen. Bato

The former top cop of the Philippine National Police hits backs at his detractors.
Senator Ronald dela Rosa slams the “keyboard warriors” who are very active in resisting the restoration of the Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC) for Grade 11 and 12 high school students.

In an exclusive interview with ANC’s Headstart, Dela Rosa restoring mandatory ROTC would instill discipline and patriotism among the Filipino youth.

"Karamihan sa mga kabataan natin, lalo na 'yung mga netizens, gustong-gusto makipag-giyera sa China. Gusto niyo makipag-giyera sa China, ayaw niyo naman mag ROTC. Paano kayo lumaban dun?" dela Rosa said.
He added: "'Yung keyboard-keyboard lang. 'Yung puro comment lang. Hindi ganun ang labanan. Actual giyera ito. Kinakailangan niyo magprepare."
The Philippine Military Academy(PMA) alumnus emphasizes the need of the Philippines to have a reserve force that can be called upon in times of emergency. He notes that he would rather restore mandatory military service for Filipino youth but admitted it would encounter stiff resistance.

"Ayaw nga ng ROTC, how much more 'yung mandatory military training? The more na hindi makapasa...'Makibaka! Ayaw namin ng military!' Ay, sigurado 'yan," he said.
The restoration of the ROTC has been gaining ground in this administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, most especially since the government is bent in ending the Maoist rebellion that has hampered the development of this country.
