Air Force (PAF) when he leaves Malacanang.

the Philippine Air Force at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, Duterte he hopes
the modernization programs of the PAF will all be completed before he steps

“I want to leave the office of the presidency with an assurance to
myself that I leave the functions, pass it on to the next whoever he will be,”
he added.
The Chief Executive is referring to the Revised Armed Forces of
the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program, which involves PHP139-billion
worth of projects including the procurement of utility vehicles, drones and
other command and control fixed-wing aircraft, among others.
Dutertereiterates that hewants the modernization program competed
because he is not sure that his successor will be of the same priorities with
respect to the AFP modernization.
Gusto ko lang kumpletuhin ‘yan baka ang susunod sa akin (I
just want to complete it because maybe my successor) would not be a fellow of
like-minded. He might have other priorities,” Duterte said.
Duterte clarifies that his
desire to have a modern and credible Air Force does not mean the government has
“exceedingly plenty of money” but just enough to acquire what is needed.
“I
am not saying that we have exceedingly plenty of money. But God has been kind
to us. We have almost --- the thing --- ah the money or the things that we need
that are immediate and urgent,” Duterte said
