Duterte Admin should cooperate with UNHRC - Sereno

Ousted Chief Jutice Maria Lourdes Sereno has no problem with the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) validating the human rights records of the country under the Rodrigo Roa Duterte presidency, if his administration has nothing to hide.
“If they’re not hiding anything, what’s the problem?” she told reporters at the United People’s State of the Nation Address (Sona), held the same day that the President was giving his fourth Sona. “Just show the records and that’s done.”

Sereno is saying that there is clear need for the public to know what is really the truth as regards the President’s drug war policy.
“When people want it, need it, it’s important,” she said.
Sereno has expressed her support publicly to the Iceland-led resolution adopted by the UNHRC that prompted to the body to investigate the situation of human rights in the country.

In the same interview, Sereno said: “I pray he will change. The path he’s taking is wrong. I hope he sees that the morale of Filipinos has really gone down.”

Sereno, was ousted as Chief Justice when Solicitor General Jose Calida filed a petition Quo Warranto challenging the validity of her appointment as the Chief Magistrate of the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court itself made the decision that indeed Sereno has no vested right to the position as Chief Justice and ousted her by a majority vote.
