A repeat of the Conchita Morales Carpio detention? Or just for
media exposure?
Former Philippine top diplomat Albert del Rosario has been denied entry in Hongkong, just like what happened to
Ombudsman Cochita Carpio Morales.
Malacanang questions the motive of former Foreigns Affairs secretary
as to his intention fully Knowing well that he might be held by authorities there

"Why did he go there? That's my question to him. Was this
deliberate on his part so that he would have the same situation where he could
use it as a forum for his advocacy?" Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Salvador
Panelo.
Del Rosario’s lawyer Anne Marie Corominas said that the former Foreign Secretary is non-executive director
of Hong Kong's First Pacific, was traveling to the Chinese special
administrative region for a shareholders meeting.
Del Rosario claims there is "no rational
explanation" as to why the Homg Kong immigration official held him in
detention.
"We are of course questioning what
the reasons are, why we were detained here or held up," Del Rosario said
earlier Friday.
Spox Panelo said he "cannot also
understand" why Del Rosario still flew to Hong Kong despite Morales'
earlier troubles with immigration officials there.
"Because if I were Del Rosario, I
would have not gone to Hong Kong because I would be—I’m sure, I would
have anticipated, that I would be going to the same ordeal like the former
Ombudsman did. Now why did he go there? That’s my question to him," he
said.
In might be remembered that Del Rosario and Morales filed a case
against Chinese President Xi Jinping in the International Criminal Court for alleged
crimes against humanity. Carpio was also detained at the Hong Kong airport last
May.
