Federalism form of government
was one of the promises that was given by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the campaign when he was still running
for President in 2016.
Now he is already at the middle
of his term as President his allies from the House of Representatives are
already making noise so much so that the idea of the Philippines having a
Federal form of government will not just remain as a dream for mindanaoan
president.
Leyte Representative-elect
Martin Romualdez,who happens to be also a lawyer and president of the Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa) has made it public that he remains committed in helping the President in pursuit of constitutional reforms in the next Congress to further sustain our economic growth and progress.

Romuladez who is one of the personalities who wants to be the next Speaker of the House said that the push for Charter change (Cha-cha) should be in the list of priorities of national leaders as this would complement the Duterte administration’s initiatives to accelerate economic growth.
“We will keep our dedication,
commitment, passion and the flame burning in pursuing federalism until we reap
the real benefits of genuine constitutional reforms for our children and the
succeeding generations,” said Romualdez.
“I urge my colleagues and the Filipino people to stand behind
President Duterte and help push a federal Constitution to create opportunities
and for strong economic growth to be also felt by ordinary people,” said
Romualdez
“The federalism advocacy of President Duterte is a golden
opportunity to unlock the doors of peace, progress, and prosperity of the
country and the people,” he added.
