Pres. Duterte praises Marcos, again

Give credit where the credit is due.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte seems to be championing this quote when he made a remark regarding the former President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos in one of those campaign sorties prior to the mid term election.
Duterte note’s the accomplishments of Marcos with respect to the grand infrastructures built during his rule that remains up to now a bastion of country’s pride until today.

“Alam ninyo sa totoo lang, sa lahat ng mga naging presidente, sinong presidente ang may mga nagawa na makikita natin? Marcos lang (You know, of all the presidents, who has projects that are still visible until today? It’s only Marcos),” he said in a speech during a rally of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago-Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod (HNP-HTL) at the Davao City Recreation Center 2 days before the election.
Duterte said Marcos built a legacy while many leaders did nothing except for unfulfilled promises for the Filipino people. The Chief Executive gave credit to the former strongman for building the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and Manila’s light rail transit system.

“Mayroon siyang ipinakita. Ang iba? Puro salita. Puro saway (He has showed something. The rest? It’s all talk, all criticisms),” Duterte added

A vocal political ally of the Marcoses, shortly after being sworned to office he allowed the former president to be buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Nov. 18, 2016, ending the decades of debate on the matter.

During speeches he openly states that then Ilocos Governor Imee Marcos helped him during the presidential elections.
Now, Imee is an elected senator an ran under the admin backed coalition.
