Pacquiao to election losers : Learn to accept defeat

The election is over, the counting of the Commission on Elections for the national positions- senators have begun.

Other senatorial candidates have conceded, based on the unofficial and partial counts, other losing candidates choose to blame the process or the voting counting machines because they were not in the winning circle.

World Boxing champion and Senator Manny Pacquiao gave an unsolicited advise to the losing opposition senatorial candidates and that s to accept their defeat.

“Ang advice ko sa kanila tanggapin na lang nila kung anong desisyon ng taumbayan (My advise to them is to accept the will of the people),” Pacquiao said in a presscon in Manila.

Pacquiao was reacting to the statement given by Otso Diretso campaign manager, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan who said that the delay in the transmittal of votes to the COMELEC transparency servers casts doubts on the mid-term election results.

Pacquiao relates if he is in the same situation, he would accept the decision of the electorate.

He notes that he too suffered political defeats in the past.

No Otdo Diretso candidate made it to the Magic 12 in the partial, unofficial counts of the COMELEC and the Parish pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPRCV).
