The result of the mid-term
election is a resounding Yes to the continuation of the reforms laid down by
President Rodrigo roa Duterte.
In a historic moment since the
opposition politicians gunning for a senate seat was shut out, a devastating
0-8.
The incoming 12 elected senators,
majority are administration backed, plus those still in their own respective
terms, the Senate is safe to safe would never be unfriendly to the President.

Opposition senators like Senator
Risa Hontiveros vows and continue work for an independent senate.
“We will continue to strive for an
independent Senate and introduce electoral reforms, particularly in the
partylist system and for campaign finance reform,” Hontiveros said.
Hontiveros lectures the media that
the Senate acts as the public’s “last line of defense within the government
against continuing attempts to undermine our democracy and attack our human
rights.”
She added: “We will persevere...
If anything, we will work harder, strive further and serve better.”
Of the existing minority bloc,
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV will end his term on June 30, and he will be joined
by re-electionist senator Bam Aquino who fails to make it to the Magic 12 this
election.
