She lost the 2016 Presidential elections and now
she just got her fresh term as senator, except for the 4 minority members who
are Liberal Party, all are allies if not going to be allies of the incumbent
sitting Chief Executive – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
After being proclaimed she vows to work for an
independent and balanced Senate.
“Sisikapin ko na sana magkaroon ng mas balanseng
pananaw ang Senado. Bilang isang independent candidate, ‘yun ang aking
tatahakin,” Poe told reporters.

She ranked second to Cynthia Villar in the mid term election with over 22 million votes, vowed to speak up on measures/issues that would not be in the interest of the public.
“Kung makakatulong sa administrasyon tutulungan
natin. Pero sa tingin ko panahon na rin na kapag meron tayong mga nakikita na
maari nating baguhin ay magsasalita tayo,” she said.
The recent mid term was a referendum that the President passed with flying colors, no opposition senatorial candidate won (0-8), and 9 out of the 12 senators that were proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) are either allied or supportive of President Duterte’s administration.
