is working.
Former
Department of Health secretary Janette Garin made a comeback in government, she
has won over her opponent in the first district congressional race in the

Flores
made an issue of the Dengvaxia scam against Garin to threw her off, but despite
of it all Flores only got 27, 658 votes.
“The
result showed that the issue did not affect the result of the elections. It is
because the issue is not true and the people in the first district are
intelligent enough to decide for what is true or not,” Garin said in an interview after being proclaimed by the
Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
It
was under the administration of former President Benigno Aquino III, and Garin
as his DOH Secretary in 2016, launched a school-based mass vaccination of the
anti-dengue vaccination program using Dengvaxia.
Flores,
tried to derail Garin’s bid by conductng last November 2018 a “funeral caravan”
in the first district of Iloilo to seek justice for the children who died
because of being vaccinated by the anti-dengue Dengvaxia.
Garin
admitted that the issues did not impact
on the elections, but was of a big effect her campaign because of the different
court procedural appearances.
