is the fate of the Liberal party led coalition of OtsoDiretso senatorial line
up has spilled over to Batanes.
Former Deparment of
Budget and Management Secretary under the President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III
administration- Butch Abad lost the race for Batanes lone congressional seat.

Abad
lost to Doc by a slim margin of only 238 votes.
As of 4:01 p.m. ,May 15, Abad got 3,129 votes while Gato got 3,367 votes from 100 percent of election returns from the province of Batanes.

Candidate
Carlo Diasnes came in third place with 3,032 votes.
It
can be recalled that during the 2010 Presidential elections Butch Abad was the
Liberal Party’s campaign manager.
He
was appointed by the former President Noynoy Aquino to a cabinet position –secretary
of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Abad
is one of those officials of the Aquino cabinet that has been recommended by
the House Committee on Good Governance and Public Accountability to face
criminal and administrative charges over the government's suspended dengue
(Dengvaxia) vaccination program.
