SM Prime Holdings (SMPH), Inc. signs MOU with DENR for Manila Bay rehab

A few weeks back the government spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) had the commitment of Mr. Ramon Ang ,the President and CEO of San Miguel Corporation (SMC) in the Manila Bay rehabilitation by helping in the clean up of the Tullahan river, one of the major tributaries of Manila Bay.
And the help of the private sectors seems to be on full steam ahead, since DENR announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with integrated property developer SM Prime Holdings (SMPH), Inc.

Just like the set up with San Miguel Corporation (SMC), the MOU signing in Quezon City will formalize SMPH’s adoption of the Parañaque River and Estero de Tripa de Gallina, both polluted waterways  found south of Manila.
Parañaque River and  Estero de Tripa de Gallina have been identified as those that will be cleaned up with other partners.
Manila Bay rehab comprises the cleaning up waterways either directly or indirectly, relocation of informal settlers and educating the public on solid waste management and other environmental matters are the major activities for Manila Bay’s rehabilitation, spearheaded by the DENR.
