Leaked Jim Paredes video ‘a diversionary scheme’ - De Lima

Detained opposition senator Leila De Lima came to the defense of Jim Paredes.
De Lima calls the leaking of the sex video was only a diversionary tactic to distract the public as regards the pressing issues plaguing the country as of the moment.
“It should be clear to everyone that it’s but another mean tactic to stifle dissent and divert our attention from grave national issues and controversies incessantly hounding the Duterte regime,” De Lima said.

“Do not be fooled by their diversionary scheme,” the senator, who is detained on drug charges in Camp Crame, added in Filipino.“Let’s just focus on more important issues, such as President Rodrigo Duterte’s possible involvement in illegal drug activities.” She added.
Paredes initially called the video fake, but later recanted ad admitted that the said video is real. He said the video was  ‘private” and “not meant for public consumption.”

Probably extracting from experience, De Lima seconded the sentiment of the musician’s and advised the public to treat the issue as a “private matter,” saying that those who uploaded the video violated the musician’s rights.

“It suffices to note that those perverts behind the uploading of the video violated the law against voyeurism. They also violated Jim’s rights,” De Lima said.
