Detained
Opposition Senator Leila De Lima did not let this issue pass without slamming
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The
opposition senator accused Duterte of
disregarding the rule of law after the President gave the statement atht he
will declare a revolutionary government
and suspend the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus.
The
President issued this threat after Senate Minority Floor Leader and Liberal
Party stalwart Franklin Drilon urged him to be careful in the review of all
government contracts and loan agreements.

"Para
na syang isang asong ulol. Threatening to declare a 'revolutionary war'
(whatever that is) and jail critics," De Lima said in a handwritten
statement from her office.
"This
President does not really care about the Constitution and the rule of law. All
he cares about is his psychotic self," she added.
The country,
she said, needs a "revolution of conscience among the enablers and all
others who still cannot see or refuse to see through the moral bankruptcy of
this regime."
Field Day
for the Opposition
The issue
gave the opposition a way or reason in attacking the President, some senatorial
candidates of the Otso Diretso relished the fact that it was media mileage for
them most especially that majority if not all are out of the magic 12 if we are
going to believe the surveys.
The Vice
President Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo will be stepping up and assume the
presidency in case the revolutionary government is declared, this as per
another senatorial hopeful of the Otdo Diretso , election lawyer Atty. Romulo
Macalintal.
