DDS Blogger slams Jim Paredes' apology

All have been said about the recent sex scandal of a celebrity which has gone viral.
This is not the first time it has happened, but what makes this peculiar is that the “action star” of this video is a legend in his own right in the field of OPM (Original Pilipino Music), it just so happen politics has meddled in the mix.
Jim Paredes has been openly attacking and criticizing the present administration of President Rodrigo Duterte. And has clearly aligned himself in the other side of the fence – a hardcore Dilawan.

Blogger and President Duterte supporter had a mouthful about the statement released by Paredes.
For purposes of  educating the public and clarity we have both quoted the statements of Mr. Paredes and De Leon below.

I don't admire the strength of character of a person when he apologizes by using human weakness as the primary reason to justify his actions and adding mitigating circumstances to reasons why his private video became viral makes it even worse. Why was it necessary to throw a jab at the other side of the political divide as a possible reason why his privacy rights were violated? It makes no sense to his apology, what's wrong is wrong.

Here's the thing, when you ask for forgiveness, it has to be sincere and contrite to be real. An act of contrition is not only asking for forgiveness, but it's also changing your ways and promising never to commit the same sin again or at least try your best not to. Jim Paredes was not fully sorry for what he did, as he regrets more the broadcast in social media. With or without social media, the act of beating your meat, alone or in the presence of others (online or physically present) are still immoral acts. It's not a privacy issue at all.

After initially denying the video was real, Jim Paredes decides to come clean with the truth by implicitly saying he is not a liar by stressing he doesn't want to be part of the lies and liars of this world. Isn't that living a double life, when you publicly criticize the morality of others, knowing you're as guilty as persons you vehemently despise? It is all the more important to behave in the context of an acceptable moral order when you're a celebrity. The more famous you are, the more caution is needed.

Jim Paredes admits his imperfection; he is flawed and irresponsible. Fine. The imperfection of human beings is universal. All men are frail and weak, and we all struggle against those imperfections. When there is a struggle, there is contrition.
His actions were deplorable, even if he was not a singer celebrity. Having engaged in online video sex puts himself, his family, and his reputation at risk. He knows this but gambled on choosing to do what is morally wrong over what is morally right. It's all a matter of choice, the daily choices we make, define who we are.
It's not a mistake, it's a choice Jim Paredes made on that particular day, and in that specific moment, he chose to be an online exhibitionist.

Jim Paredes once said repeatedly, "Look at me!" There you have it. Now, all eyes are looking at him.

This is very difficult for me to write, and for many of you, it will
be painful to read.
The video was real. It was private, and not meant for public
consumption. I do not know how it became public. I can only surmise
that in this ugly season of toxic politics, muckrakers determined to
neutralize my influence by violating my privacy and digging up dirt on
me are at work.
When I saw it on social media, I was in a quandary how to respond. But
after mulling and praying over it, I decided to come clean. There are
already too many lies and liars in this world. I do not wish to be a
part of that cabal. I have chosen to be truthful because I know that
painful as the truth can be, it will eventually set me free.
I have never tried to project myself as perfect. Of all the sins in
this world, I believe sex is the most human of all. I am not saying
this to excuse what, I regret, was broadcast on social media. I have
always expressed my feelings freely. Today, I wish to express my
truth. I am a flawed person, a human being, much like everyone else.
I made a mistake, I was irresponsible. And I am truly sorry.
I know many of you have judged me and condemned me, and those who held
me in high esteem are disappointed in me, to put it mildly. I
apologize for my irresponsibility. But most especially, I stand in
bottomless sorrow and contrition before my family who are reeling from
the hurt and aggravation, and the embarrassment and shame, that should
only be mine. I pray that they be spared any more wicked trolling by
those who would revel in their pain.
