China took what is 'ours', DFA Sec. says of West PH Sea

The Department of Foreign Affairs headed by its Secretary – Teddy Boy Locsin Jr., cannot be clearer than this, when asked what is the stand of the DFA’s on the Chinese intrusion and building of artificial islands in the West Philippine Sea.
The West Philippine Sea "is ours" and that China, from whom President Rodrigo Roa Duterte sought investments and loans, "took it."
"The stand is that it is ours. And they took it. World's highest court ruled that. Period,"the DFA Sec said.

"Now the question is how to take it back," he added. ]
As of know the Asian giant refuses recognize a United Nations backed arbitral’s ruling that invalidated its sweeping 9-dash line claim over the South China Sea.
Time and time again Manila has raised concerns over China’s activities and militarization of the areas, which the latter vehemently denies.

Presiden Rodrigo Roa Duterte in multiple occasions said he cannot afford to wage war with China, to do so will be suicide.
Lacson said, he has “no fear for war.”
"One attack on a public vessel triggers World War 3 with the USofA which is impervious to attack from Asia," he said.

Obama “was in love with China”

Sec. Locsin claims that Manila could not defend its maritime territory before because Obama “was in love with China’ and told Beijing  it was “okay to take what it wants from the Philippines."
Both Manila and US are bound by the Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT).
However, the treaty’s role in the Philippines’ sea dispute in China is vague.
Under the treaty, it covers only “metropolitan” Philippines and does not include Philippine territories in the South China Sea.
