President Duterte to Roxas: 'You're nothing, I can shoot you for free'

Loyalty matters to the President.

The campaign rally of Partfdo Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan's senatorial bets in Isabela, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte slams senatorial candidate and former Presidential rivl Mar Roxas , whom he has branded as "disloyal and unprincipled" person.

"Ito si Roxas. It's not because you are a namesake of Roxas, mahusay ka. Itong taong ito, walang loyalty 'to. Panahon ni Arroyo, panahon ni Aquino, nandoon siya. Wala ito. Paganun-ganon. He pretends to be somebody. Tao na walang prinsipyo, wala talaga 'yan," the President said in a speech delivered in Cauayan City, Isabela.

Roxas comes from a politically known clan, being the grandson of former President Manuel Roxas, was was appointed by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as Department of Trade and Industry secretary in January 2001. He was also tapped by Arroyo as Transportation secretary from July 2011 to October 2012.

Former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III then appointed Roxas as Department of Interior and Local Government secretary from September 2012 to September 2015.

The President did not let the opportunity to pass to point out the inefficiency and incompetency of Roxas while serving in government.

"Ito si p***** i**** Roxas na 'to, matagal na man ito. Nakagawa ba siya maski bridge? Naging secretary ng DOTC (now-defunct Department of Transportation and Communications), naging DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government). Walang naiwan," he said.

The Chief Executive then said in his speech that he could shoot Roxas “for free”, since the latter is “noting.”

"You are nothing to me. I can even shoot you for free," Duterte said.

"You know, Mar Roxas, I kill people for money. But since you are nothing. I will shoot you for free," the President added.
